Internship Details:

  • Start Date: May 26th 2026
  • End Date: August 7th 2026
  • Must work between 320 and 400 hours within the eleven-week timespan
  • Schedule mutually agreed to with supervisor (flexible working hours/multiple shifts)
  • Temporary/seasonal hourly rate: $13.50 (NEW HIRE RATE FOR 2026)
  • Opportunity to gain work experience in local government

The Internship Program provides an opportunity for high school and college students (16) the opportunity to work with a rapidly growing municipal government that places high value on education and advancement. A successful internship will provide you with work experience in local government and may even give you an idea of a career path you did not know was an option to you.

To perform in this position successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent problem solving & teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to work and interact in a professional manner with the city council staff and members of the public.
  • Must have strong analytical and computer skills position dependent.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention of detail.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship by any employer.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited high school college university vocational trade or other type of school when the application is submitted.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from your primary working location.
