PG Bison a proudly South African world-class manufacturer of wood-based decorative panels and associated products is seeking an experienced ElectricalForeman to join our dynamic Engineering team at our Boksburg site.

In this pivotal role you will be responsible for managing and executing all Electrical Maintenance requirements shutdown planning and execution to ensure optimal machine availability and reliability across the plant. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership proven technical ability and a passion for driving maintenance excellence in a high-performance manufacturing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure safe work procedures are followed at all times.

Maintain all duties and responsibilities as per legal OHSA appointment.

Plan the daily work load (daily routines scheduled maintenance breakdowns outstanding work requests).

Plant and work Inspections

Set the standard of workmanship
Follow up on tasks completed by team members
Housekeeping of workshop and work areas
List jobs arising and prioritise these

Problem solving

Find the cause of failures and plan to prevent recurrance

Ensure quickest possible turn around time for all critical plant breakdowns
Fix it first time
Coach artisans in plant specifics
Be on standby
Work afterhours and on weekends as required.

Managing jobs / work orders

Ensuring maintenance schedules are attended to and signed off

Ensuring all work undertaken is done so safely and in line with job requirements
Ensuring all work undertaken is recorded and booked onto Pragma
Co-ordinating and communication with production personnel
Ensuring good housekeeping
Ensuring that the Pragma system adherence by artisans

Managing staff

Ensuring manning levels are within requirements
Ensuring productivity from staff
Dealing with staff related issues (wages leave etc.)
Dealing with staff disciplinary issues

Measuring and recording staff performance

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12
Related tertiary qualification/S4 or N6
Electrical Trade Test Certificate
Minimum 5 -10 years experience in a similar position
Extensive Exposure in Electrical Engineering
Manufacturing environment experience would be advantageous
Good knowledge of MV and LV equipment
Advanced PLC knowledge (Allen Bradley Siemens S 5 & 7)
Good Instrumentation Knowledge
Decision Making Ability
Task Orientated
Organiser and Controller
Be Able to Work in a Team Based Environment
Excellent Communication Skills
Good Human Relation Skills
Self-Driven Computer literate
Decision Making Ability Task Orientated
