POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE
The Intermediate Co-Teacher (3-4) having both content and instructional expertise will work as a classroom co-teacher to support student learning. The Intermediate Co-Teacher (3-4) will focus on individual and group professional learning that will emphasize and assist planning and classroom instruction; assessment of student progress; and advancement of Brookside Charter School mission vision and values.

- Build and maintain relationships with teachers administrators and students families with an eye toward working cooperatively to help students meet academic and other goals.
Curriculum and Instruction
- Communicate and demonstrate researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance.
- Provide individualized classroom-based learning by implementing instructional practices.
- Prepare standards-based programs of study that meet the individual needs interests and abilities of students.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of clear learning goals for all lessons units and projects and communicate these goals to students.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques including media consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Create positive relationships with students families teachers and administrators.
- React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Confer with and seek assistance from instructional coaches and school administrators regarding possible interventions for students who need additional support.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law school policy and administrative regulation.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms such as participation with graduation Back-to-school carnival parent-teacher conferences and school events

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
*All requirements listed below are required unless otherwise designated as preferred.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligible for certification.
Experience
- Experience teaching in an urban school environment is preferred.
- Experience teaching historically underserved populations (or historically marginalized populations) with a record of positive academic improvement is preferred.
Skills and Traits
- Proficiency in Google Workspace Microsoft Office and/or equivalent software.
- Candidate will be a passionate advocate for Brookside Charters mission and students.
- Candidate will have a deep internal passion for ensuring that students meet and exceed academic standards regardless of socioeconomic status race previous academic performance or other challenges.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position may require sitting standing and walking for intermittent periods as well as moderate dexterity in operating standard office equipment (e.g. computer printer copier).
- This position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision hearing and speaking.
