Direct Support Professional (DSP)

• Status: Part-time <20 hours per week
• Schedule: Varied hours between Monday - Friday 9:00 am 6:00 pm occasional weekends as needed
• Location: Camp Hill
• Pay: $17.75 per hour

What Were Looking For:

• 6 months to 2 years of previous job-related experience expected
• Previous Personal Care Aide Caregiver Direct Support Professional (DSP) or Direct Care Worker experience
• Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism
• A valid drivers license and 6 months driving experience
• Reliable transportation with valid insurance registration and inspection
• 18 years of age
• Ability to communicate read write and understand the English language

As a DSP (Direct Support Professional) in Home and Community youll offer individualized 1:1 support that promotes independence builds daily living and social skills and encourages active participation in everyday life work and the community.

What Youll Do:

• Provide transportation and support individuals during appointments work and community outings to promote full participation
• Support individuals in building independence and self-confidence by encouraging choice-making and everyday decision-making
• Assist in developing and carrying out individualized plans based on each persons preferences needs and interests
• Teach and support daily living skills including personal care hygiene cooking and light housekeeping
• Use effective communication to build trusting relationships and support social and community connections
• Assist individuals in exploring employment interests and participating in work and community activities
