About the role
As a SAP TM Architect you will be responsible for guiding and supporting SAP Transportation Management (TM) solutions within Carriers SAP core landscape supporting template deployments for North American operations.
This role partners closely with the Digital Factory Operations teams and other Digital COEs to define design deploy and sustain integrated SAP solutions. You will ensure alignment across Sales & Distribution Materials Management Logistics Execution and Transportation Management delivering scalable and sustainable solutions that support Carriers logistics and supply chain strategy.
Key Responsibilities
As a SAP TM Architect youll be responsible for:
Monitoring and resolving SAP TM-related incidents within agreed SLAs
Performing root cause analysis for recurring issues and implementing permanent fixes
Documenting resolutions and maintaining a knowledge base for common issues
Supporting and maintaining existing SAP TM configurations aligned with business requirements
Applying minor and major configuration changes to ensure operational continuity
Validating and testing transport requests prior to production deployment
Troubleshooting and maintaining interfaces between SAP TM and other SAP modules (EWM SD MM) and external systems
Collaborating with technical teams to resolve IDoc RFC and API-related issues
Monitoring system performance and optimizing TM processes for efficiency
Ensuring timely execution of transportation planning and freight settlement jobs
Providing functional support to end users for TM processes such as freight order creation carrier selection and charge calculation
Conducting refresher training sessions and creating user guides for new functionalities
Participating in change request analysis and providing impact assessments
Supporting testing cycles including unit testing integration testing and UAT
Ensuring adherence to organizational compliance standards and audit requirements
Maintaining accurate documentation for configurations processes and support activities
Identifying opportunities for process automation and system enhancements
Supporting go-live and hypercare activities troubleshooting in real time with operations teams
Requirements
We are looking for people who are highly experienced analytical and capable of designing and supporting complex SAP logistics and transportation solutions. If this is you get in touch.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
5 years of experience working as an SAP LE / SD Consultant
5 years of experience working as an SAP WM Consultant
Hands-on experience leading multiple SAP implementation projects with strong solution design and architecture capabilities
Experience with full configuration and implementation of Sales & Distribution and Logistics Execution
Strong functional knowledge in SAP MM / LE including MRP requisitions purchase orders inventory management material valuation inbound and outbound delivery processing shipment processing and shipment costing
Experience with at least 3 full life cycle SAP implementations including production support
Strong understanding of logistics-based SAP modules including SD MM LE and PP
Experience in requirements gathering master data management customization configuration testing and training
Experience supporting manufacturing business processes such as MTS MTO and ETO models
Hands-on functional support experience for SAP EWM / WM including:
Outbound: wave management transportation unit creation pick/pack/ship
Inbound: receiving quality inspection putaway strategies
Production integration and staging to/from production supply areas (PSAs)
Batch management and inventory controls
Experience supporting go-lives and hypercare phases
Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills
