Rutgers the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II in the Brandt Behavioral Health Center and Retreat of Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. Under direction the Mental Health Clinician II serves as the senior mental health practitioner who provides lead functions for the program to include screening of intakes and referrals care coordination ensuring completion of program specific documentation and/or comprehensive assessment and therapeutic intervention for the psychological and social needs of child and adolescent (ages 3-17 years) and/or adult individuals served (18 and over) including development of treatment plans conducting individual group and family therapy and providing case management. Assists with the provision of clinical supervision to licensing candidates as assigned. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Contributes to and supports goals and objectives of the Unit and UBHC . Demonstrates knowledge of University Behavioral Health Cares vision mission and values as they relate to service provision daily activities decisions and quality improvement priorities and consistently behaves in accordance with established policies and procedures as observed by supervisor. Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that enhances the positive self-image of individuals served and their families and preserves their human dignity right to fair and equitable treatment self-determination individuality privacy and civil rights as observed by supervisor and with minimal complaints and positive feedback from peers patients and their families. Actively and enthusiastically participates in ensuring the smooth functioning and operation of the program and participates in UBHC -wide meetings performance improvement activities committees and task forces as assigned and as observed by supervisor and program administration.

Overview
Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care ( UBHC ) established in 1971 offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children adolescents adults and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHCs 1060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment prevention and education. UBHC one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient outpatient partial hospitalization screening crisis stabilization family/caregiver support community outreach and case management supportive housing supported employment prevention and consultation employee assistance programs and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police veterans active military teachers mothers of special needs children and child protective service FY2016 UBHC treated 16199 consumers had 24502 admissions and touched the lives of 19441 individual callers through peer addition UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services Children and Families and Corrections delivering 16000 trainings each year.
