GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Human Resources (HR) Intern will learn a wide variety of HR-related tasks and skills specific to the industry. The HR Intern will provide support and assistance to Human Resources Department that ensures effective use of time and productive interactions with staff. The purpose of the internship program is to enable college students seeking a four-year degree to learn the job responsibilities and career paths of Human Resources opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times.
2. Performs various clerical duties such as filing organizing and answering phones and emails.
3. Develop knowledge and support various administrative and operational activities of Talent Management Recruiting Benefits Compliance and Support and Payroll.
4. Create and provide assistance in preparing and formatting information for internal and external distribution. This may include writing letters and memos compiling data for reports creating computerized presentations writing reports editing proofreading and other information preparation duties.
5. Assist with projects and the other activities that support key HR initiatives.
6. Create and present key takeaways of internship program including learning outcomes and career path interests.
7. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
8. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
9. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired) such as basic accounting computer etc. Equivalent of four years in high school plus night trade extension or correspondence school specialized training equal to two years of college plus 0 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers clients general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide numbers. Ability to perform these mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
