Job Title: Retail Shop Supervisor

Location: Co. Limerick (Gas Station Convenience Store)

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Retail Shop Supervisor to oversee daily operations of our Spar convenience store inside a busy Irish gas station. You will lead a small team ensure excellent customer service manage stock and maintain a clean safe and inviting store environment. This role combines leadership sales drive and hands-on involvement in day-to-day retail tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise frontline staff (customer assistants) to deliver high-quality service and meet sales targets.
Oversee cash handling POS operations opening/closing procedures and daily reconciliations.
Ensure accurate stock replenishment rotation and shelf presentation; conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies.
Maintain store cleanliness signage health and safety compliance and food safety standards where applicable.
Deliver excellent customer service resolve issues promptly and handle complaints professionally.
Promote Spar promotions loyalty programs and upsell relevant products (hot drinks snacks fuel-related accessories).
Monitor security prevent loss and implement standard operating procedures.
Assist with staff training performance feedback and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
Collaborate with the station management on promotions maintenance and pump area cleanliness as needed.

Requirements:

Previous retail/supermarket or consumer service experience preferred.
Strong customer service communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic numeracy and cash handling accuracy; comfortable with POS systems.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings; shift patterns may include early mornings.
Team leadership or supervisory experience an advantage.
Knowledge of food safety and health & safety standards is desirable.
A proactive reliable and friendly attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
