Permanent & 2-year Fixed term role based in Wellington or Auckland

Te tūranga The role
The Financial Stability Group plays a critical role in identifying assessing and responding to risks and vulnerabilities in New Zealands financial system. This includes supporting macro-prudential policy decisions strengthening supervisory approaches and ensuring financial institutions are appropriately regulated and monitored. The purpose of the Supervisory Frameworks and Systems team is to enable modern risk-based and insight driven supervision of regulated entities through efficiency consistency and digital capability.
The groups work ensures that risks are well understood effectively communicated and translated into clear policy and supervisory actions. This supports senior decision-making cross-Bank committees and the Reserve Banks broader financial stability objectives.
In this role you will:
Lead and contribute to analytical problem solving and solutioning (systems tools processes frameworks) that enable modern risk-based and insight driven supervision and contributes to the Banks financial stability objectives
Provide expert advice and insights to support senior decision-making
Contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives across the Reserve Bank
Mentor and support junior colleagues helping build capability within the team
Engage and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including other regulators and central banks

To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant experience in a central bank supervisory authority financial institution or related policy/regulatory environment
A pragmatic and delivery focused approach with a structured outlook that means you can juggle many balls and get cut through where it is needed the most
Proven ability to undertake high-quality analysis and translate complex information into clear insights
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
Excellent operational skills and technology comfort which equips you to identify opportunities to solve problems or improve approaches.
Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams
Experience mentoring or supporting others with a team-oriented mindset
Sound judgement and the ability to think critically and holistically about complex issues
Enthusiasm for financial stability policy and contributing to meaningful public good outcomes
The anticipated appointment range for this role is $155630 to $168599 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
