Shift: Swing Shift 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM

- Sunday through Thursday
- Tuesday through Saturday
Expected Hours:40 to 50 hours per week

Position Overview
The Manufacturing Production Supervisor plays a key leadership role within a high-volume food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for supervising production operations leading hourly production teams and ensuring operational targets are achieved for safety quality productivity and compliance.
The supervisor manages daily shift operations while coaching employees coordinating cross-functional activities and ensuring that production goals are met in a fast paced and highly regulated manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership
- Supervise daily production activities and lead hourly production personnel during the assigned shift.
- Coordinate manufacturing functions to ensure efficient production flow and on time product delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions when performance deviates from targets.
- Support plant initiatives and improvement programs aligned with plant priorities and operational goals.
- Communicate production goals updates and operational metrics to team members regularly.
Team Development and Coaching
- Train mentor and develop production employees to achieve optimal performance.
- Provide clear direction and constructive feedback to support employee growth.
- Address employee performance issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Foster a positive accountable and safety focused work environment.
Operations Management
- Conduct shift startup checks and review shift pass down information from the prior shift.
- Lead daily production meetings and communicate operational priorities.
- Monitor production lines to ensure efficiency quality standards and compliance requirements are maintained.
- Quickly address production equipment or process issues by coordinating with maintenance or quality teams.
- Ensure accurate shift reporting and documentation.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety standards GMP requirements HACCP programs and safety protocols.
- Lead safety meetings and participate in incident investigations when necessary.
- Ensure SOX and regulatory compliance documentation is completed accurately and filed properly.
- Ensure employees follow hygiene standards and utilize required personal protective equipment.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Partner with scheduling warehouse maintenance and quality teams to support seamless operations.
- Support plant initiatives focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Typical Daily Activities
- Conduct pre shift checks and shift pass down review.
- Perform production floor walk throughs to evaluate line operations.
- Lead shift start meetings with production employees.
- Monitor manufacturing lines to maintain production efficiency.
- Address issues impacting product quality or production output.
- Ensure employees follow GMP requirements and safety protocols.
- Coach employees and provide performance feedback.
- Document shift performance and operational updates.
Work Environment
- Fast paced food manufacturing facility.
- Noisy environment with active machinery.
- Strict sanitation and hygiene requirements.
- Certain areas operate in cold environments.
- Facility operates on a 24-hour production schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4 or more years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- At least 1 year of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience supervising or directing a diverse unionized workforce.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of GMP HACCP and workplace safety programs.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead teams and maintain production performance in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Dairy processing or dairy manufacturing experience.
- Experience coaching and developing production employees.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn additional business or production management systems.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of Alchemy Safety Training.
- Compliance with all GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Required personal protective equipment will be provided by the facility.
