Job Summary

Schedule: Full-Time Days No Weekends
Compensation & Incentives
Salary: Up to $110000 per year (Based on Experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $15000
Incentive Bonus: Up to 10%
Relocation Assistance: Available (case-by-case basis)
Position Summary
A leading acute care hospital in Nashville TN is seeking an experienced Microbiology Manager to oversee daily laboratory operations and lead a high-performing microbiology team. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance maintaining quality standards and supporting operational excellence in a high-volume hospital laboratory environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in microbiology along with proven supervisory experience in a hospital or central laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily microbiology laboratory operations and staff
Manage recruitment onboarding training and competency assessments
Monitor team performance and conduct coaching and evaluations
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including College of American Pathologists (CAP) Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Joint Commission (JCAHO) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Oversee quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) programs
Collaborate with the Medical Director to maintain departmental policies and quality metrics
Lead and support continuous quality improvement initiatives
Ensure adherence to hospital safety and infection control standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology Biomedical Science Biology or Chemistry
National Certification as a Medical Technologist (e.g. ASCP or equivalent) Required
Masters Degree Preferred
Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a Microbiology Technologist
Experience in a high-volume hospital or central laboratory setting Required
Stable employment history preferred (no significant employment gaps)
