Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT

At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research education and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students community and stakeholders to provide critical programs such as the Northern Territory Medical Program Paramedicine Rural Clinical School and the University Department of Rural Health.

Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program) provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SANT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community.

About the Role

This exciting ICT Audio Visual Officer opportunity will work to support and deliver Information Communication Technology (ICT) related services to an allocated portfolio in Rural and Remote Health (RRH). You will be supported to work collaboratively and closely with the Flinders Information and Digital Services (IDS) and as a member of the ICT team to support the objectives of Rural and Remote Health (RRH) on a range of staff and student support matters. A snapshot of the core responsibilities of the position are listed below:

  • Providing advice user support and training to rural and remote staff students and external clients on the use of the Universitys information and digital technology systems as required.

  • Providing technical support for teaching and learning activities including video conferencing for university courses as well as assistance with video recording and editing.

  • Setting up maintaining and securing audio-visual equipment end-user devices and other IT equipment.

  • Providing Level 2 helpdesk support maintaining asset registers databases scripts and related documentation including creating and updating wiki articles for user reference.

About You

You are an emerging ICT professional who is passionate about supporting both staff and students on a range of ICT matters. You enjoy the diversity of working in a university environment which enables you to showcase your strong interpersonal skills with different stakeholders. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A Diploma in Information and Communications Technology or a related field combined with at least two years relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or training and/or hands-on experience in current ICT practices and technologies.

  • Demonstrated general experience and knowledge with supporting clients through AV/ICT helpdesk services troubleshooting and maintenance of AV/ICT facilities operating in window domain environments and cloud-based solutions and general knowledge of mobile devices networking & cyber security.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse issues problem-solve effectively identify priorities and exercise informed judgement whilst working independently and under pressure often remotely via telephone and remote desktop tools.

  • Demonstrated understanding of applicable Work Health and Safety requirements and ability to lift and move heavy equipment in accordance with WH&S Manual Handling Guidelines.
