Our client based in Boksburg is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic Service Team. This role requires a technically strong individual who is hands-on customer-focused and able to provide on-site repairs calibrations installations and breakdown support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high customer satisfaction levels through professional technical support and service excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities- Carry out calibrations and preventative maintenance tasks on a scheduled and planned basis according to Laboratory and ISO procedures.
- Provide technical service and support to customers through regular on-site visits providing repairs and tool calibrations.
- Plan manage and carry out the installation of our equipment at the customers premises.
Ensure all repair and calibration workshop documentation is completed correctly and up to date. - Conduct regular customer visits providing technical support assistance and guidance as and when required.
- Provide technical support on automation systems robotics and smart manufacturing equipment at customer sites.
- Work collaboratively with the Sales Team to address technical and support-related matters
- Support emergency breakdowns outside normal working hours when required.
- Perform repairs and field service support on power tooling including; Fixtured toolsElectronic tools and Pneumatic handheld tools
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation of all activities.
- Compile written reports on repairs incidents and service activities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on PLC-controlled systems and automated equipment.
- Provide the customer with technical support during breakdowns over the phone and when required on-site.
- Provide advice and feedback to the customer on the use of their equipment.
Requirements- Engineering qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years working experience.
- Valid driving License.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including early starts late finishes and emergency response situations.
- Willing to travel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
