Job Summary

Our client based in Boksburg is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic Service Team. This role requires a technically strong individual who is hands-on customer-focused and able to provide on-site repairs calibrations installations and breakdown support.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high customer satisfaction levels through professional technical support and service excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

Carry out calibrations and preventative maintenance tasks on a scheduled and planned basis according to Laboratory and ISO procedures.
Provide technical service and support to customers through regular on-site visits providing repairs and tool calibrations.
Plan manage and carry out the installation of our equipment at the customers premises.
Ensure all repair and calibration workshop documentation is completed correctly and up to date.
Conduct regular customer visits providing technical support assistance and guidance as and when required.
Provide technical support on automation systems robotics and smart manufacturing equipment at customer sites.
Work collaboratively with the Sales Team to address technical and support-related matters
Support emergency breakdowns outside normal working hours when required.
Perform repairs and field service support on power tooling including; Fixtured toolsElectronic tools and Pneumatic handheld tools
Maintain accurate service records and documentation of all activities.
Compile written reports on repairs incidents and service activities.
Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on PLC-controlled systems and automated equipment.
Provide the customer with technical support during breakdowns over the phone and when required on-site.
Provide advice and feedback to the customer on the use of their equipment.

Requirements

Engineering qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years working experience.
Valid driving License.
Willingness to work flexible hours including early starts late finishes and emergency response situations.
Willing to travel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
