Location: Pretoria Menlyn (Inoffice; hybrid after successful completion of probation)

About the Role

As an Intermediate Software Engineer you will contribute to the design development and maintenance of scalable software solutions. Youll work closely with senior engineers product managers and designers taking ownership of features and components while continuing to grow your technical depth and understanding of the broader system.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Maintenance

• Design develop and maintain reliable scalable software solutions.
• Write clean wellstructured code that meets quality and performance standards.

Team Collaboration

• Work with product managers designers and engineers to deliver features that solve business and user problems.
• Participate actively in planning sessions standups and retrospectives.

Code Quality & Learning

• Participate in code reviews incorporating feedback to improve code quality and consistency.
• Follow established engineering standards patterns and best practices.
• Continuously develop technical skills through handson work and collaboration.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay up to date with relevant technologies and development practices.
• Contribute ideas that improve system performance maintainability and user experience.

Ownership & Delivery

• Take responsibility for assigned tasks and features from development through to deployment.
• Deliver work on time and to a high standard escalating risks or blockers when necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or National Diploma in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.

Experience & Technical Skills

• 35 years of professional software development experience.
• Exposure to ecommerce logistics or fintech environments is advantageous.

Technical Exposure (one or more areas):

• Frontend: React Vue Angular or similar frameworks
• Backend: Go C# Java JavaScript or comparable languages
• Mobile: React Native or similar mobile frameworks (advantageous)
