Job Summary

The International Mission Board a nonprofit religious organization is hiring for multiple Teaching Assistantsfor (Preschool SchoolAge or Floater classrooms) for ourChildren Education Program.

Location: Rockville VA
Rate: $15.00/hour

Schedule: 8:30-4:30 up to 33 weeks per program requirements

During orientation and debriefing sessions for missionaries children our Children Education Program provides caring ageappropriate support to kids ranging from infants to high school students. We match workers with the age group that best fits their strengths and experience.

Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in one of these classrooms:
- Preschool classroom
- Schoolage classroom OR
- Floater for the classroom education program

Help create a safe welcoming environment where missionary kids can learn play and grow.
Assist with various classroom activities to include Bible stories/activities cultural learning activities recess P.E. music arts etc.
Aid teachers with classroom management
Assist students during lunch and snacks
Work up to 33 weeks per year as program dictates

Requirements:

Experience may be flexible depending on the classroom assignment.
High school diploma or GED required
Previous teaching/teaching assistance experience in any setting from early education through high school preferred
Current or willing to get the TDAP and FLU vaccine to work in some classrooms.
Ability to lift and carry infants up to 20 pounds as needed
Physically able to lift and move young children safely as well as navigate on and off the floor within a classroom setting.
Possess the stamina and agility to perform repetitive tasks such as squatting bending and standing for extended periods
