Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Summer Academic Advisor for the Rutgers-New Brunswick Office of the Provost for the Summer 2026 Academic Planning and Advising ( APA ) season. All summer advisors will work alongside and under the guidance of the school-based Assistant Deans and advising staff as they guide incoming first-year students through the process of registering for their Fall 2026 courses. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Supports in-person group advising sessions 2-4 times per week between mid-June and the end of August during concurrent sessions of New Student Orientation ( NSO ). Supports group virtual academic advising and registration initiatives for students unable to travel to campus for NSO International Student Orientation. Schedules adjustment virtual drop-ins and handles administrative work. Helps students create balanced and appropriate full-time schedules for their first semester at Rutgers-New Brunswick to help students meet degree requirements complete foundational courses in programs of interest and explore their academic interests.
