Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Microbiology Lab Technician to support our Laboratory Services team in biobanking and biological testing activities. In this role you will assist scientists with laboratory experiments sample management and biological analyses to help ensure product quality and consumer safety. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced research and development environment while maintaining strict laboratory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Perform routine biological and chemical analyses to support research and quality testing.

Apply proper aseptic techniques to maintain sample integrity and prevent cross-contamination.

Collect prepare and process samples for biobanking and experimental testing.

Assist with laboratory experiments to evaluate the physical and biological properties of substances.

Accurately record observations and data using an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).

Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for sample tracking and data management.

Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment and instruments.

Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth lab operations.

Collaborate with team members to support daily research and project activities.

Follow all laboratory safety protocols biological risk control plans and chemical handling procedures.

Prepare reports summarizing test results findings and recommendations.

Maintain a clean organized and compliant laboratory environment in accordance with ISO 17025 standards.
Required Qualifications

Associate or Bachelors degree in Biology Chemistry or a related scientific field.

1-2 years of laboratory experience preferred.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel).

Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory standards.

Understanding of cross-contamination prevention and laboratory safety procedures.

Experience with LIMS and ELN systems preferred.

Familiarity with laboratory risk control plans and chemical management protocols.
