Position Description
Fast-paced production labs manufacturing facility with strict adherence to safety regulations regarding chemical handling. Chemical hygiene standards require proper housekeeping in the workspace and the raw materials storage areas.
Roles Responsibilities
Technician matching Industrial coating colors over metal substrates.
Matches color and gloss to customer requested samples.
Works with Scientist to ensure color match meets expected performance.
Creates and properly labels standards.
Creates and properly labels customer samples.
Measure weight and mix colorants to match samples.
Obtains raw materials and supplies from the production area.
Understands and follows safety policies.
Use spectrophotometers and lab equipment to produce color chips validated against expected color standards.
Adjust formulations to fix color discrepancies and meet specifications.
Maintain accurate detailed records of formulations and adjustments.
Calibrate and clean spectrophotometers and lab equipment.
Use metal shear to cut substrate and samples.
Skills
Math and problem-solving skills.
Mechanical numerical and verbal aptitude to learn jobs quickly.
Ability to be licensed to operate fork trucks.
Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to work within a self-managed team environment.
Ability to read and follow weight fractions of ounces and measure accurately by gallons pints and ounces.
Basic computer skills.
Prior lab chemical experience.
Education
High School Diploma or GED minimum required.
