Reporting to the Mechanical Integration Manager the successful candidate will collaborate closely with Industrial and Vehicle Architecture teams to drive technical excellence across projects. Responsibilities:
- Lead technical activities related to the mechanical integration of train sub-systems onto the vehicle body across various rolling stock projects.
- Collaborate with Industrial and Vehicle Architecture teams to ensure alignment on design layout and integration strategies.
- Apply ergonomics design principles to evaluate and propose human-centered solutions in coordination with domain experts.
- Review and validate system solutions for technical feasibility compliance and integration readiness.
- Execute mechanical integration tasks in strict compliance with QCD commitments.
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and gain stakeholder acceptance within defined timelines.
- Monitor project progress escalate risks or issues impacting QCD and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Allocate mechanical requirements and interfaces to sub-systems and equipment teams.
- Verify the conformity of sub-system and equipment deliveries against project specifications.
- Drive resolution of mechanical project issues and lead corrective actions for complex challenges.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans for identified mechanical scope risks.
- Deliver and maintain the Project Mechanical Preferred Part List.
- Define and manage the Project Mechanical Decomposition within the Digital Mock-Up environment.
- Review technical specifications estimate costs and schedules and plan engineering work for self and team members.
- Initiate and lead engineering design programs including system-level design and complex interface development.
- Analyze technical data solve system-level integration challenges and ensure robust design outcomes.
- Conduct system-level testing documentation and demonstration; develop test procedures and lead design reviews internally and with customers.
- Prepare document and follow up on Design Review actions in alignment with project timelines.
- Capture and share best practices contribute to a centralized knowledge repository and develop training materials for onboarding new engineers.
Requirements
- BE / / ME / in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in the rolling stock industry is mandatory. Equivalent experience in other high-integrity engineering domains may be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for Mechanical Integration Engineer role.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience for Senior Mechanical Integration Engineer role.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience for Senior Mechanical Integration (Train Level) Engineer role.
