Urgent requirement of Data & Analytics Reporting Lead - Contract - Sydney
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Delivery Management
- Manage day-to-day activities of the reporting and analytics team.
- Oversee team deliverables ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
- Monitor and review team members workload time tracking and task updates.
- Ensure all BAU activities are completed within agreed SLAs.
- Conduct sprint planning sessions daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives.
- Ensure accurate and consistent updates in sprint tracking tools.
- Prepare and present sprint summary reports and presentation packs at sprint closure.
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Management
- Lead stakeholder requirement gathering workshops and sessions.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Ensure deliverables align with agreed business requirements.
- Act as the primary escalation point for reporting-related issues.
3. Quality Assurance & Governance
- Review all Power BI solutions to ensure:
- Data models follow best practices (star schema relationships performance optimization).
- DAX measures are efficient and optimized.
- Power Query transformations are structured and maintainable.
- Reports adhere to enterprise design templates and standards.
- Data models follow best practices (star schema relationships performance optimization).
- Review Power Automate flows to ensure:
- Robust error handling.
- Scalability and maintainability.
- Compliance with governance and security standards.
- Robust error handling.
- Ensure all solutions are production-ready robust and well-documented.
4. Data Engineering Oversight
- Review data pipelines built by Data Engineers (e.g. ingestion transformation orchestration).
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Validate testing coverage and ensure appropriate QA processes are followed.
- Optimize and improve pipeline performance where required.
- Ensure solutions are scalable maintainable and aligned with architecture standards.
5. Technical Leadership & Hands-on Support
- Provide technical guidance to the team on:
- Power BI data modelling
- Advanced DAX
- Power Query
- Data ingestion and transformation (Databricks)
- Power Automate
- Power BI data modelling
- Support development activities during peak workload periods or where capacity allows.
- Identify opportunities for performance optimization and automation improvements.
Key Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Power BI (Data Modeling DAX Power Query) and Databricks
- Experience reviewing and optimizing complex Power BI data models.
- Experience with Power Automate workflows and governance.
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT pipelines orchestration).
- Experience reviewing code (SQL Python or relevant data engineering languages).
- Knowledge of data architecture best practices and performance optimization techniques
Duration: 06 Months and possible extension
