Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing cardiac surgeries
- Monitor patients vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as needed
- Collaborate with surgeons nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Conduct preoperative assessments and consultations
- Provide post-anesthesia care and manage recovery
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices
- Participate in continuous medical education and training
- Assist in developing anesthetic protocols and guidelines
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Anesthesiology
- Completion of a fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesiology
- Strong clinical skills in anesthetic management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Experience with advanced monitoring techniques is a plus
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7a-4p
Beeper call 1 day per week 1 weekend per month
Case Volume: Over 1000 total cardiac surgical cases per year
Cases: 100% cardiothoracic anesthesia for minimally invasive valve repair/ replacement CABG adult congenital procedures aortic reconstruction and other major vascular cases
Academic position; will work with residents fellows and SRNAs/CRNAs
