Back Office Operations Analyst Connecticut USA
Introduction
A leading investment management firm is seeking a Back Office Operations Analyst to join their team in Connecticut. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the firms trade lifecycle and financial reporting. You will work in a fast-paced environment collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all operational data is reconciled and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily reconciliations of trades positions and cash balances across internal systems custodians and prime brokers.
- Investigate and resolve trade breaks and position discrepancies before they impact operations or reporting.
- Collaborate closely with external counterparties fund administrators and internal teams to facilitate accurate trade settlements.
- Assist in the maintenance of high-quality data within the firms internal databases and portfolio management systems.
- Support month-end closing processes and contribute to accurate financial reporting.
- Identify operational process gaps and work with management to design and implement efficiency improvements.
- Ensure all back-office activities are conducted in compliance with firm policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- 15 years of experience in Back Office Operations Trade Support or Fund Administration.
- Strong understanding of reconciliation and settlement processes.
- Previous exposure to OTC (Over-the-Counter) products is preferred.
- Experience working at a hedge fund asset manager prime broker or fund administrator is a significant advantage.
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field.
- High level of attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset and excellent communication skills.
