Job Summary
Full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) opportunity within a Psychiatry specialty practice. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m.) primarily Friday Saturday and Sunday.
This position is part of a behavioral health team serving patients in an inpatient mental health unit with an associated outpatient practice. The provider reports to the Section Chief and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification is preferred; Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing patient management

Assess diagnose and treat behavioral and mental health conditions

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations
-
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

Collaborate with psychiatrists therapists nursing staff and other healthcare professionals

Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis and treatment plans
-
Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical record systems

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care coordination
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Experience:
None required
Licensure/Certification:
-
Current Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP) or Physician Assistant license

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (if applicable to NP)
-
DEA license
-
AHA BLS-HCP certification required
-
Advanced Life Support certification preferred

Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations

Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare providers

Strong written and verbal communication skills
