Job Summary
Registered Nurse opportunity within a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Various shifts are available with a weekend rotation requirement.
This 24-bed cardiac-focused unit provides specialized monitoring and care for cardiac observation patients procedural patients and short-stay inpatients with conditions such as chest pain atrial fibrillation syncope NSTEMI and congestive heart failure.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating patient care to achieve optimal outcomes across the lifespan in a fast-paced cardiac environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform age-specific admission and ongoing assessments; develop and revise individualized plans of care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members patients and families to implement and evaluate care plans
-
Administer and document medications and treatments accurately using electronic medical record systems
-
Identify and address patient and caregiver educational needs
-
Serve as a patient advocate and provide psychological social and cultural support
-
Apply knowledge of growth and development to deliver age-appropriate care
-
Demonstrate clinical expertise in rapidly changing situations
-
Develop strategies to improve patient outcomes reduce length of stay and optimize resource utilization
-
Serve as a clinical role model for coworkers students and physicians
-
Manage resources establish priorities and modify the care environment to meet patient needs
-
Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives
-
Support orientation and training of new employees
-
Provide constructive feedback and participate in unit and organizational activities
-
Assist in educational activities within the department
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or approved program eligible for licensure
Licensure/Certification:
-
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for RN licensure
-
AHA BLS-HCP certification required
-
Additional certifications (ACLS PALS NRP) may be required based on unit
