The opportunity
As our Level 1 Security Analyst they will be keeping proprietary and sensitive information secure by monitoring customers computer networks and systems to identify threats and security breaches. Level 1 Security Analysts are expected to uphold quality standards within the SOC contribute to continuous improvement tasks within the SOC stay up-to-date on the latest threat intelligence and methodologies.
This is a hybrid role that can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia.
This role requires the ability to gain an Australian Government security clearance; therefore Australian citizenship is mandatory.
Your key responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to security alarmsalertsincidents from the various SOC entry channels (Security tools Tickets Email and Phone)
- Deliver SOC services inline with operational procedures quality standards and customer SLAs to ensure targets are met or overachieved
- Follow ITIL practices regarding service request incident problem and change management.
- Work assigned shifts and provide on-call coverage as per the 24x7 SOC roster
- Recommend enhancements to SOC service delivery framework.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience within Information Security especially in a security operations and vulnerability discovery OR information operations/incident role
- Strong working knowledge of at least three of the following security tools: host-based antivirus anti-spam gateway solutions firewalls IDS/IPS server and network device hardening data loss prevention forensics software vulnerability management website security
- Experience utilizing security tools such as: Splunk Sentinel Crowdstrike Microsoft Defender and ServiceNow
- Knowledge of general security concepts and methods
Ideally youll also have the skills and attributes below but dont worry if you dont tick all the boxes. Were interested in your aptitude attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience with Windows Linux UNIX any other major operating systems.
- Ability to mesh sound technical and security practices to problem solving
- Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge.
- Additional certifications and training preferred in the following areas: Network Security certifications (CISSP Security SANS ISACA Vendor Certificates) Project Management training/certification and Quality Management (ITIL Six Sigma TQM etc.) training/certification
