Head of Unsecured Lending & Payments Technology

We are seeking a dynamic technology leader to head our Unsecured Lending & Payments Technology division. Serving 14.8 million customers across HSBC UK first direct M&S Bank and HSBC Innovation Banking youll drive the strategic technical and operational leadership of multiple lending technology platforms and manage key third-party vendor relationships.

This director-level position shapes and executes the technology strategy forUnsecured Lending and Payments leadingtransformationand customer-focused innovation. As a memberof the UK Technology senior leadership team the role influences atExColevel ensuring technology underpins HSBCs business growth and market leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and deliver the technology roadmap ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Lead a team of c.280 FTE fostering a high-performance inclusive culture.
• Champion modern engineering practices (Agile DevOps CI/CD automation).
• Oversee multi-million-pound budgets and ensure robust risk and compliance management.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver innovative customer-centric digital products.

About You:

• Proven technology leadership adept at driving strategic change within complex matrixed organizations.
• Deep expertise in DevOps and software engineering with hands-on experience leading teams and driving transformation using agile at-scale methods and DevOps tools.
• Strong commercial acumen and operational management skills.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Solid understanding of Retail Banking Account & Savings product offerings.
