Summer Student Communications

The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) is a leading industry organization dedicated to the overall planning development marketing and management of the commercial port facilities within the Port of Prince Rupert.

PRPA isseeking a motivated eager-to-learn student to join the communications team and contribute toongoing projects and initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience develop professional skills and enhance career prospects.

Summer student employment is for four monthscommencingMay 4 2026 and endingAugust 28 2026unlessotherwise specified.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support ongoing communication initiatives in:
  • Copywriting and editing
  • Digital content development
  • Traditional and social media monitoring
  • Website content management
  • Archiving and maintenance of digital assets
  • Marketing collateral development
  • Communications planning

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Enrolled in a program at a post-secondary institution studying communications marketing public relations or journalism.
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail arerequired.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with social media platforms content management systems and/or creative development softwareisan asset.
• Experience with photography videography and related editing software isan asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Regular working hours are Monday to Friday 7.5 hours/day with a 1-hour lunch break (unpaid).
• Work will primarily be in an office environment.

The hourly rate for PRPAs Summer Student positionis$29.00.
