In addition to the duties typically expected of a Landscaper responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing the grounds of our residential apartment properties throughout Ottawa to ensure they are attractive safe and well kept while also contributing to an exceptional resident experience. This role plays an important part in creating a welcoming environment where residents feel at home. You will greet residents with a smile take pride in the appearance of the community and act as a brand champion by demonstrating a caring professional and approachable presence each day.


This is a great opportunity for students who enjoy working outdoors staying active and being part of a supportive and team oriented environment. No prior landscaping experience is required as training will be provided.

Responsibilities will also include:

  • Perform general landscaping tasks such as mowing trimming weeding watering and planting.
  • Maintain flower beds trees and shrubs by pruning edging and mulching.
  • Assist with lawn care including fertilization and aeration as directed.
  • Remove debris leaves and litter to ensure clean and tidy grounds.
  • Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment such as lawnmowers trimmers and hand tools.
  • Assist with minor repairs to irrigation systems and other landscape features.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines while working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Support other groundskeeping tasks as needed.

Your safety is important to us. As such you will be required to:

  • Follow all health and safety regulations to prevent injuries and ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves safety glasses hearing protection and steel toed boots.
  • Stay hydrated and take appropriate precautions when working in hot or extreme weather conditions.
  • Properly handle and store chemicals fertilizers and tools to prevent accidents.
  • Be aware of potential hazards including uneven ground sharp tools and moving equipment.
  • Follow safe lifting techniques when handling heavy materials to avoid injury.
  • Report any safety concerns damaged equipment or workplace hazards to the supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in safety briefings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle (required).
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to reliability and punctuality.
  • Enjoys working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting bending kneeling standing for long periods).
  • A positive team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Experience with landscaping grounds maintenance or similar work (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work full-time hours during the summer months (part-time now until school ends is possible). Most work will be done between 8-4 Monday to Friday however on rare occasions you will be needed to support after hours to ensure a project is completed.
