Main purpose of the job:- To be a field worker collecting data and perform all research related activities according to the protocol and data capturing
Location:- Baragwanath Neonatal Unit Chris Hani Baragwanath Soweto
Key performance areas: - To do study related duties as specified by the protocol
- Compile study progress reports on number of participants enrolled and activities performed
- Establish a working relationship with clinic nurses/staff
- Collect specimens from participants
- Communicate routinely as needed to the study coordinator and Principal investigator regarding clinical management of subjects
- Attend and resolve queries that are generated by data management staff
- Do proper filing of results and any other study related documents in the relevant assigned place
Required minimum education and training: - Grade 12
- Qualified as an Enrolled Nurse
- Drivers Licence
Professional Body Registration:- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse
Required minimum work experience: - 2 years Experience as an Enrolled Nurse in Neonatology
- Desirable additional education work experience and personal abilities:
- Ability to lead and work independently as well as be part of a multidisciplinary team
- A friendly informal attitude with excellent people skills
- Ability to speak in local languages
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to adapt to changing environment within the project needs
