Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
The Operational Clinical Nurse Specialist provides clinical leadership and operational oversight within the hospital Theatre environment.
Sound and contemporary knowledge of the operating theatre together with an advanced understanding of professional nursing health care delivery and programme planning allows the Operational CNS to fulfil the following primary roles: Operational management Advanced clinical care Consultation as a source of expert knowledge Clinical teaching of staff and learners Research Leadership
Requirements
Registered as a registered /professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council or equivalent NQF level 7 nursing qualification.
Post basic nursing qualification in Operating room nursing together with contemporary skills and knowledge of that specialty.
Extensive clinical experience in a hospital theatre setting including senior or leadership roles
