We are looking for a Community Development Officer who can confidently represent the RIPE NCC as a trusted ambassador promoting our mission and acting as a key point of contact for the broader Internet community. If this sounds like you please keep reading.
Our ideal candidate is someone with a background in computer science or related. They are passionate about advancing a secure scalable and resilient Internet comfortable speaking at international events and skilled at translating technical developments into clear insights for diverse audiences.

What You Will Be Doing:
Represent the RIPE NCC: Be the public face of the organisation and promote our mission and vision. Be the first point of contact for people organisations and groups not yet familiar with us.
Actively promote technologies that support the scalability security and resilience of the Internet such as IPv6 RPKI and routing security peering and interconnection.
Deliver presentations on the RIPE NCCs activities in relation to topics such as IPv6 BGP RPKI and Internet measurements in a variety of events in Europe the Middle East and Central Asia
Share insights on technical issues and developments to draft articles white papers and other research or communication materials along with our data and research teams
Occasionally deliver training courses or webinars alongside a trainer from our Learning and Development team
Share knowledge with the technical Internet community RIPE NCC members academia Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) governments and other competent authorities
Build ties: Follow and engage with relevant working groups within RIPE NOGs IXPs and other technical communities. Build strong ties with relevant communities and groups facilitating the sharing of expertise and best practices across groups
Keep track of discussions about emerging technologies relevant to the RIPE NCCs areas of operation and the RIPE community. Inform the RIPE community about key issues that might be relevant.
What Were Looking For:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Networking Engineering or related field
Experienced working with policy development and engaging different stakeholders along with over 3 years of hands-on network engineering experience ideally related to BGP or IPv6
You are proactive about staying up-to-date on technical developments
You are confident in public speaking creative proactive and a strong communicator. You have the ability to host or moderate insightful discussions on key issues with communities across our diverse service region
Excellent command of English both written and verbal
The ability and flexibility to travel internationally (about 25% of your time)
The ability to take the initiative to identify opportunities and topics for the RIPE NCC to engage in areas of interest from a technical perspective
We would also appreciate:
Recent CCNA/ JNCIA RIPE NCC Certified Professionals BGP Security Associate IPv6 Fundamentals - Analyst or IPv6 Security Expert or other technical qualifications
Experience in presenting technical content at NOGs or other technical forums
Additional language skills - the ability to converse in Russian Arabic Farsi or Turkish is an advantage

Salary will be based on salary market data of the country of residence. Your employment contract will be via a third party with a local entity; Remote (as our employer of record company).
Our generous secondary benefits package will be translated into additional payments to your base salary.
