This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets including animal nutrition and health bioindustrial road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Material Planner is responsible for planning scheduling and coordinating the raw materials needed for production. Working closely with purchasing warehouse and production teams you ensure material availability while maintaining targeted inventory levels. Based on purchasing contracts negotiated by buyers and requirements generated from customer orders you supply the necessary inputs to support the smooth and uninterrupted operation of our plants in France.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure product availability and monitor proper execution of contracts by suppliers. Manage and follow up on claims when necessary. You will also participate in supplier evaluations.
  • Serve as a key link between suppliers and production. With many potential disruptions this role requires reactivity logical thinking and strong stress resistance.
  • Carefully analyze proposed planning schedules and adapt your supply plans to meet customer satisfaction. Proper configuration of the MRP (requirements calculation engine) is essential.
  • Coordinate actions related to the deployment of forecasting and planning tools and propose continuous improvement initiatives (portfolio rationalization leadtime reduction inventory optimization etc.).

These responsibilities require close collaboration with various internal departments: sales marketing technical teams planning and plant operations.
You will report to the Logistics Director.

Qualifications

  • 23 years postsecondary (Bac 2/3) ideally in business management or logistics with solid knowledge of inventory management.
  • Autonomous and efficient with strong analytical and synthesis abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and openmindedness will be real assets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in French and a good command of English.
