Position Title: Assistant Principal Description: The Assistant Principal has a dynamic personality is organized well rounded engaging and who facilitates growth and collaboration inside and outside of the classroom. He/She is one of the educational leaders of the school and partner to the Principal. He/She will provide an environment where administrators teachers counselors and parents can collaboratively embrace behavior expectations academic policies traditions and the Catholic character of the school so that Catholic Central may educate young men and women to become servant leaders living a Christ-centered life. Primary Responsibilities Monitor and manage daily student attendance with the main office Implement and carry out attendance policies Serve as the primary point of contact for student behavior issues Enforce the schools code of conduct consistently and fairly Communicate with students families and staff regarding disciplinary actions Maintain discipline records and handle investigations promptly Assist with supervision of students at school and events Oversee safety procedures Serve as a member of the Guiding Coalition Team Collaborate with department chairs to support curriculum alignment and instructional initiatives Assist with reviewing and analyzing student achievement data Help ensure academic departments are meeting school expectations and goals Serve as a member of the Child Study Team. Collaborate with counselors to support students in both academics and behavior Assist the principal in planning and approving curriculum. Assist in building the master schedule teacher assignments scheduling and planning for each academic year. Oversee Student Support Services. Assist the principal in the recruiting hiring and evaluation of faculty and staff. Work with the Athletic Department to support student expectations and eligibility Assist with compliance reporting necessary for maintaining accreditation. Collaborate in the maintenance of the Parent-Student handbook. Provide evidence of an ability and commitment to furthering the Catholic mission and identity of the school. Serve as acting principal when the principal is not in the building. Job Qualifications Have a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience with an advanced degree in educational administration or a related field. Show a demonstrated track record of success in teaching. Possess an Michigan School Administrator Certificate or equivalent.
