Lead – API Sales (LATAM Market)
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Drive sales of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in the LATAM region.
- Identify new business opportunities develop client relationships and expand market presence.
- Negotiate contracts pricing and commercial terms with distributors and direct customers.
- Achieve revenue and profitability targets for LATAM markets.
Market Strategy & Intelligence
- Conduct market research to identify demand trends competitor activities and regulatory requirements in LATAM.
- Develop and execute region-specific sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Provide inputs to management on product positioning and pricing strategies.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with key accounts distributors and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer queries and complaints.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Regulatory Supply Chain QA/QC Production) to meet client requirements.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with LATAM regulatory frameworks for API exports.
- Support dossier submissions product registrations and documentation requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of sales contracts regulatory approvals and client communications.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor the sales team focused on LATAM markets.
- Drive performance management training and capability building.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of sales operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Pharmacy Chemistry or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8–12 years of experience in API sales/export business with at least 3–5 years handling LATAM markets.
- Strong knowledge of LATAM regulatory environment and pharma trade practices.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building long-term client relationships.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of international pharma trade and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in Spanish/Portuguese preferred for LATAM client interactions.
