Job Summary
smartdept. is searching for a Graphic Layout Specialist for an experiential events industry client. The ideal candidate will come with 5 years of experience in graphic production and large-format design. This is a project-based fully remote contract opportunity with utilization across two 3-month windows (March 1June 1 and August 1November 1). Hours are expected to average 10 per week depending on project load.
This role focuses on developing high-quality production-ready large format graphics and show look concepts that support live event environments. The ideal candidate has strong Adobe Creative Suite expertise and understands print production workflows within the events industry.
What Youll Do:
Develop large-format graphics and show look concepts for live events
Prepare production-ready print-friendly files for seamless on-site delivery and setup
Manage projects from intake through completion ensuring timelines and accuracy
Collaborate with creative sales operations and production teams
Proactively identify and communicate challenges or adjustments
Maintain organized and accurate project documentation
Deliver high-quality graphics aligned with stakeholder specifications
Support expedited turnaround times (typically 4872 hours when needed)
What Youll Need:
Associate degree in Graphic Design (or related field) OR 5 years of experience in graphic design/layout within the live events industry
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Strong understanding of large-format print production processes
Ability to manipulate and prepare various file types for production vendors
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
