DescriptionThis is a part-time (28 hours/4 days a week) internship for 10-13 weeks during the summer of 2026.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Strategy Intern to join the Church Sustainability this internship you will have the opportunity to be exposed to the environmental sustainability priorities and activities of the Church and contribute to several areas including internal tool development data analysis research and communications.
Work on real projects to support the Churchs global efforts to care for the earth. Be mentored by sustainability professionals. Gain practical resume-building experience. Work in a creative spiritual culture with a highly motivated team.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
Assist in day-to-day work of Church Sustainability Office:
- Complete necessary data analysis and research
- Complete short-term projects and special assignments
- Develop drafts and proposals for internal tools processes and communications
- Support internal department and area employees involved in sustainability work
QualificationsQualifications:
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university OR graduated within the last year
- Currently pursuing a degree or profession related to environmental sustainability
- Expertise in using Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word and PowerPoint
- Critical thinking research and data analytics skills
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills verbal and written; able to write for executive and general audiences
- Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion
- Flexibility and the ability to prioritize changing requirements to meet urgent requests
- Self-motivated with willingness and ability to learn/contribute
- Attention to detail organization and follow through; able to manage time effectively
- Ability to establish priorities solve problems and propose meaningful actions plans and deliverables
- Ability to work in teams or alone
