Job Summary
The CNC Programmer Haas is responsible for programming setting up and optimizing CNC machining operations using Haas equipment to produce high-quality components that meet engineering specifications and production requirements. This role supports manufacturing efficiency continuous improvement initiatives and safe operational practices while ensuring product quality and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop write and optimize CNC programs for Haas machining centers and lathes.
- Interpret engineering drawings blueprints GD&T and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling fixtures feeds and speeds to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Perform machine setup prove-out and first-article validation.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Quality and Production teams to improve processes.
- Modify existing programs to improve cycle time tool life and product quality.
- Maintain program documentation setup sheets and revision control.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards quality procedures and company policies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including lean manufacturing and cost reduction efforts.
- Train operators on setup procedures and program usage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years CNC programming experience preferably with Haas machines.
- Experience with Haas controls and CNC machining centers.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and inspection methods.
- Experience selecting cutting tools and machining strategies.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments (calipers micrometers indicators gauges).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree or certification in Machining Manufacturing Technology or related field.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam Fusion 360 or similar).
- Experience in high-mix low-volume manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Multi-axis machining experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to bend reach and perform repetitive motions.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise moving equipment and machining fluids.
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing facility requiring adherence to PPE and safety standards. The role may require overtime based on production needs.
