CCNMis currently looking for a highly motivated enthusiastic and experienced Intermediate Accountant to support the FinanceDepartment.Reportingto the Controller the successful candidate will provide financial and administrativesupport in the Finance department and support the College at large in AccountMaintenance and Financial Reporting Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable andGeneral Ledger accounting.
DUTIES
- Maintains and ensures completeness of tuitionpayment plan (TPP) forms and promissory notes submitted by students;communicates with students about the TPP
- Processes all US loan requests through G5 andcoordinate disbursement of US loans to students within 10 business days ofnotification from SSO office.
- Processes and posts student monthly latepayment fees in SONIS
- Responsible for student accounts receivablecollection and escalates issues to the Controller if necessary this alsoincludes payment collections on student balances.
- Conducts monthly reconciliation of Scholarships& Bursaries US loans G5 account Student Payment Clearing Account
- Prepares T4A for Bursaries and Scholarshipsfrom SONIS and send T4A Summary to Controller by the end of January
- Manages the finance email inbox on a dailybasis forwarding items to other finance staff where required and answering allqueries
- Responsible for posting student payments inSONIS to ensure account balances are accurately updated.
- HelpReconcile/book transactions processed through the clinic for all payment types.
- Helpbooking investment transactions.
- Assists the Finance Team as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-Secondary education in accounting orrelated discipline
- Completion or enrolment in a CPA program orequivalent is preferred
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similaraccounting position preferably in a not-for-profit charitable sector and/or educationalinstitution
- Functional knowledge of general ledgerpayroll accounts receivable and accounts payable operations
- Good interpersonal skills â able to communicateeffectively oral and written to all levels of staff as well as externalcontacts with minimal supervision
- Exceptional organizational skills and detailorientation
- Experienced with Microsoft Dynamics NAV andother relevant accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills and solid understandingin other MS Office products
- Exemplary customer service skills to deal witha wide variety of internal and external clients
