This role is within the Finance Function supporting the Investment Solutions (Individual Wealth) business unit which offers Canadians a diverse lineup of mutual funds portfolio solutions and guaranteed investments empowering them to pursue their financial goals at every life stage. What will you do
The Investment Solutions Reporting team is responsible for financial and regulatory reporting for the Canadian Individual Wealth business and related subsidiaries. Reporting to the Manager Wealth Reporting the Intermediate Financial Analyst will assist in ensuring the timeliness accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions from the Individual Wealth administration systems through to the General Ledger. This includes accounting reconciliation financial reporting and maintaining a control environment related to the Individual Wealth business.
Process accounting for the Segregated Funds line of business including preparing journal entries performing key controls and managing vendor feeds to the general ledger.
Own month-end close activities for the business area including monthly account reconciliations.
Prepare investment management fee statements for fund companies and process payments (wires/EFT).
Prepare quarterly trending analyses on key accounts.
Assist in preparation of reporting packages and senior management presentations.
Prepare statutory and regulatory reports for Individual Wealth and Sun Life Financial Trust Inc. (SLFT) and support SLFT accounting activities.
Provide audit support (regulatory external and internal) by preparing requested documentation and explanations.
Support strategic initiatives and projects within the team and across the organization.
What do you need to succeed
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) with 23 years of accounting and financial reporting experience; actively pursuing or having completed a professional accounting designation.
Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Owners mindset: self-directed adaptable proactive and positive in a changing environment.
Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in or knowledge of Individual Wealth or the insurance industry.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including working with large data sets to extract summarize and reconcile data.
Knowledge of and experience with Copilot SAP Ledger Tableau and Sun Lifes internal administration systems.
Note: This role can be reported under the CPA experience verification pathway.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
