EMPLOYMENT IS SEASONAL AND TEMPORARY** PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Extended School Year (ESY) is a Special Education program for students with disabilities whose IEP team has determined that in order to minimize substantial regression and reduce substantial recoupment time a student is required to attend ESY. These services will be based upon the individual needs of the students per their IEP goals/objectives. REPORTS TO: Position reports to the ESY Director and the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services PROGRAM SCHEDULE:The instructional hours for students are approximately 4 hours per day 4 days per week (M-TH) for 5 weeks from July 12 2026 to August 13 2026. The Reading/Math Tutor Teacher is expected to:Work all 20 days of the program. Independently plan lessons to prepare for rigorous structured reading Progress Reports in the last week of the with related service providers to address students : An ESY (Extended School Year) Reading/Math Tutor job involves providing individualized or small-group reading instruction to students with special needs focusing on areas like phonics fluency and comprehension while monitoring student progress and collaborating with educators and families. These services are done in a small group setting through drive-in services. Math services focus on the goals from the students direct reading instruction to students to address students IEP goals/objectives. Instruction will focus on cognitively demanding lessons assignments and enrichment activities (requires some planning work outside of regular program hours).Utilize programs; Wilson Orton Gillingham or other multisensory systematic approachSupervise safe arrival and dismissal of all students assigned to their tutoring timely student attendance and progress students families site coordinators and program staff with relevant and timely data including monitoring and reporting students progress to prevent regression as outlined in the in all scheduled professional for program materials and as a partner in planning and problem students to provide information via progress reports at the end of the ESY other related duties as requested by the ESY Site Coordinator or Assistant Superintendent of Student ServicesQUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:Bachelors Educator Licensure in Moderate DisabilitiesCertification of OG/Wilson/Rave-OCurrent authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment. QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED:MPS values linguistic diversity and believes that candidates who speak another language bring added value to the classroom school and district culture and diversity. TERMS:Hourly rate of $40.
