If you are currently completing a Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedicine) degree or diploma or have recently graduated from a recognised NZ or Australia tertiary provider this is your opportunity to take the first step in your career!

The Tertiary Employment Pathway is designed for students eager to enter the workforce and apply their studies in a real world setting. This is a permanent full time Emergency Medical Technician role through a structured programme it does not offer a pathway to Paramedic Authority to Practice.

The next intake will begin in July 2026 in Auckland and Waikato. You will be fully supported through a comprehensive onboarding process including a two-week induction AORM clinical support days and a two-day local induction ensuring you have the skills and confidence to succeed.

Qualifications :

Ko wai koe - About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedicine) degree or diploma from an approved New Zealand or Australian Tertiary Provider within two years or
  • Successfully completed semester 3 of study at AUT or Te Pukenga Whitireia or
  • Successfully completed semester 4 of study at Griffith University or Charles Sturt University or
  • Successfully completed the Diploma of Emergency Health Care from the Australian Paramedical College (APC).
  • Have New Zealand or Australian citizenship or permanent resident status.
  • Have a full New Zealand or Australian drivers licence held for at least one year OR a full New Zealand drivers licence held for less than one year and have completed an NZTA approved advanced driving course.
