Team Manager - Frontline/ASYE

As Team Manager supporting Haverings Frontline and ASYE cohort you will play a vital role in developing supporting and retaining newly qualified and earlycareer social workers ensuring they build strong foundations for highquality confident and childcentred practice.

You will provide dedicated leadership management oversight and professional guidance to social workers undertaking the Frontline programme and the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE). You will ensure that learning and development are effectively embedded into frontline practice enabling practitioners to progress safely confidently and competently within statutory childrens social care.

You will be responsible for creating a supportive reflective and learningfocused environment providing highquality supervision coaching and performance management. You will balance the developmental needs of newly qualified social workers with the delivery of timely safe and effective practice for children and families ensuring that safeguarding remains paramount at all times.

A key element of the role is working closely with the Social Care Academy practice educators programme leads and operational managers to ensure that Frontline and ASYE requirements are met progress is monitored and learning is translated into practice. You will have oversight of caseloads assessments and decisionmaking ensuring proportionate risk management and compliance with statutory guidance local procedures and Haverings practice framework.

  • Embedding reflective relationshipbased and evidenceinformed practice
  • Ensuring safe timely and highquality decisionmaking that safeguards children and promotes positive outcomes
  • Identifying learning needs and supporting progression through effective supervision and development planning
  • Contributing to workforce stability retention and continuous service improvement

About You

You will be an experienced and reflective social work professional with a strong commitment to developing and supporting earlycareer practitioners. You will bring a calm encouraging and authoritative leadership style with the ability to balance support and challenge to promote safe effective and confident practice.

You will be a qualified Social Worker holding a CQSW Diploma in Social Work or equivalent qualification and be registered with Social Work England. You will have substantial postqualifying experience within childrens social care and demonstrable experience of supervising mentoring or managing social workers including newly qualified practitioners or students.

You will have a strong understanding of statutory childrens social care safeguarding responsibilities and professional standards with the ability to apply this knowledge to support developing practitioners in complex practice situations. You will be skilled in reflective supervision coaching and practice observation enabling social workers to build analytical skills resilience and professional confidence.

You will be confident in managing performance supporting learning and addressing practice concerns in a constructive and proportionate way. You will be able to work collaboratively with learning and development colleagues programme leads and operational managers to ensure that Frontline and ASYE requirements are met and that learning is embedded into daytoday practice.

Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build trusting relationships with social workers colleagues and partner agencies and to model professional valuesled practice.
