The role of a Manager in the Derivative Advisory team will be to oversee client engagements and components of larger engagements as well as individually contributing quality work on the engagement with teams whilst coaching junior team members.
The role requires extremely strong commercial acumen with treasury financial risk management and technical accounting experience. Provides technical knowledge direction and training to people coordinates engagement management and effectively utilises resources as appropriate. Oversees engagements to provide valuation and accounting advice to Australian and international clients. Day-to-day management of team members on engagements including coaching and providing positive and constructive feedback. Effective communication to team members and the Engagement Leader during the whole engagement. Begins to build on networks across the Division and develops further skills on people development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Derivative transaction services including valuations model development and accounting advisory services
- Hedging strategy analysis solution design and implementation
- Derivative valuations and risk analysis
- Development of hedge accounting compliance frameworks
- Buy / Sell side deal support
- Financial analysis policy development and process improvements
- Writing board papers reports proposals and client presentations
- Managing engagement budgets timelines and resourcing
Your Experience:
- Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm with valuations and accounting advisory experience.
- A strong understanding of financial markets treasury and finance environments.
- Experience in valuing interest rate foreign exchange and commodity derivatives and/or technical background in implementing or providing quality assurance over hedge accounting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to solve new and technically challenging problems either independently or as part of a team.
- Strong technical skills backed by a commercial flair and ability to project manage large engagements.
- The ability to build robust relationships at all levels internally and externally.
- A commitment to client service with a proven track record of developing strong relationships with clients.
Qualifications :
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and have completed Chartered Accountant qualification or Chartered Financial Analsyt.
- This role will suit either a Finance/Accounting/Treasury professional ideally with recent experience in treasury advisory or assurance in Professional Services or industry.
