Job Summary:

The Buffet Lead oversees buffet operations during assigned shifts ensuring food quality cleanliness and excellent guest service. This role provides on-floor leadership coordinates with the culinary team enforces standards and supports smooth day-to-day operations. Responsible for supporting the Companys mission vision and values by providing an unparalleled experience of fun and entertainment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads by example
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Leads buffet operations during assigned shifts ensuring food quality presentation cleanliness and service standards are consistently met.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact between the buffet team and culinary staff proactively communicating food levels and replenishment needs.
  • Monitors food quality and freshness throughout service directing staff to change pans and rotate product as required.
  • Oversees proper setup breakdown and maintenance of buffet equipment; ensures daily cleaning of floors and service areas.
  • Ensures all food handling and service practices comply with health department regulations and food safety guidelines.
  • Provides leadership on the floor by modeling prompt courteous and professional guest service.
  • Communicates operational issues staffing concerns or guest escalations promptly to the immediate supervisor.
  • Assists in training new buffet staff and provides guidance and support to team members during service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous experience in food service buffet or catering operations.
  • Working knowledge of food safety sanitation and health department guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill
  • Must be able to pass Canterbury Parks pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
  • Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.

  • Maintain a flexible working schedule which may include days nights weekends and holidays.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • This position sometimes involves working outdoors in all weather conditions.
