Purpose of Job | In Weakley County Schools we believe that in order to access the academic program a student must first be able to monitor and control their own behavior. The RBT will help students in this endeavor by implementing positive behavioral support strategies in order to improve academic and behavioral outcomes. |

Qualifications | High School Diploma or GED 48 hours of successful college credits or a passing score on the Weakley County Paraprofessional Exam. WCS offers this exam in our office at no cost. Maintain Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) certification as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board-Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) Experience in the area assigned preferred |
Essential Functions or Duties | - Work in cooperation with the behavior support department special education department and alongside school teams
- Demonstrate ability and willingness to work with students across school settings including special education and general education classrooms
- Assist individual students and small groups in developing academic social and behavior skills through the implementation of positive reinforcement systems
- Help to build confidence self-esteem and emotional regulation in children through one-to-one and/or group interactions
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and adults to improve the students overall behavioral functioning
- Support and monitor assigned students during academic and nonacademic activities (e.g. lunch transitions special area classes recess etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
- Consult with BCBA and the WCS Special Education Department regarding service delivery and intervention implementation to at risk/qualifying students as needed
- Implement behavioral interventions with fidelity as outlined in behavior support plans
- Assist teachers with implementation of behavior interventions outlined in behavior support plans.
- Assist in the analysis and interpretation of results of data collection to evaluate student performance and progress the effectiveness of interventions strategies and support and contribute to future plans
- Collaborate with the special education department and attend IEP team meetings as requested
- Submit required documentation to the BCBA for record keeping review and feedback
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions related to positive reinforcement strategies and behavioral supports
- Maintain student confidentiality at all times
