The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a key role in supporting children with behavioral and developmental needs within a multidisciplinary care setting. This position works closely with nursing therapy and clinical leadership to implement behavior strategies support engagement in daily programming and help create structured developmentally appropriate classroom environments. The RBT will help bring consistency structure and positive behavior support into the day-to-day experience of each child while ensuring documentation and communication are completed accurately and timely.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required; some college coursework in psychology education or related field preferred
Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
Experience working with children with developmental behavioral or medical needs preferred
Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team-based clinical environment
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Responsibilities
Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the direction of a BCBA or clinical leadership
Support development of structured engaging classroom environments that promote positive behaviors and reduce triggers
Assist with classroom organization routines and schedules to improve consistency and engagement
Work directly with children to build communication social and daily living skills
Provide hands-on support with self-care tasks including feeding toileting and mobility as needed
Collaborate closely with nursing and therapy teams to ensure consistency of care and carryover of goals throughout the day
Observe record and report client behavior and progress accurately using the companys documentation systems
Assist in identifying behavior patterns and environmental factors contributing to behaviors
Respond appropriately to behavioral escalations using approved de-escalation and crisis management techniques
Maintain a safe environment for all children including use of response blocking and other safety interventions when necessary
Communicate professionally and effectively with families staff and interdisciplinary team members
Participate in team meetings trainings and ongoing education
Support a positive team-oriented culture within the center
