Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience in the facilities/building maintenance industry and understand the specific safety issues inherent to the industry.


The pay listed is the salary range for this position. An offer will vary based on the applicants education experience skills abilities geographic location and alignment with market data.

Essential Functions

    • Conducts waste audits
    • Conducts educational presentations and outreach
    • Performs on site-waste consultations
    • Trains sorter faculty students and restaurant staff on proper sorting
    • Develops analyzes and revises standard operating procedures related to waste management
    • Prepares compliance and waste audit reports using data collection analysis and interpretation as well as narrative summaries; ensures monitoring and tracking of sorting programs and oversees audits
    • Coordinates the purchase proper use maintenance and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) for sorters
    • Facilitates a work environment that promotes a sustainable culture
    • Acts as an advisor to the entire management team on best zero waste practices
    • Oversees the sorting program
    • Perform data entry in the work order systems.
    • Create and track purchase orders in the accounting system.
    • Performs other administrative duties

Requirements

    • Bachelors preferably in Environmental Studies/Science Sustainability OR equivalent years of experience
    • Strong data and analytic skills; ability to translate data into actionable intelligence
    • Thorough knowledge of San Francisco Zero Waste regulations
    • Demonstrates exemplary customer service and excellent verbal written leadership and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to train influence and motivate team members
    • Ability to communicate and work effectively with people from various backgrounds
    • Bilingual in English Spanish Cantonese/Mandarin is a plus
    • Graphic design is a plus but not required
    • Basic knowledge of PowerPoint and excel
    • Presentation skills
    • Flexibility in schedule
