Culinary Intern at Destination GNNOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2026 SEASONJoin the fun fast-paced environment at Destination Geneva National located along the shores of Lake Como and three championship golf courses in Lake Geneva Wisconsins top resort town. We offer multiple venues for culinary interns from Geneva Nationals Clubhouse restaurant turf to our five-star Hunt Club Steakhouse the Paloma Cantina Crafted Italia and our banquet kitchens from which we execute some 80 weddings and other corporate and social events per year. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in menu development recipe formulations and daily kitchen operations while refining your cooking safety and teamwork skills. This internship provides an opportunity to develop essential skills and knowledge in the culinary arts preparing you for a career in the hospitality industry. Complimentary housing is available on a first-come first-serve basis with priority given to six-month chefs in gathering ingredients preparing carts for banquets and maintaining clean workstationsMeasure ingredients replenish supplies and complete other duties as assignedDevelop recipes and contribute to menu developmentParticipate in daily kitchen operations including food preparation plating and presentationCollaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and safe food serviceMaintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to food safety and sanitation standardsEssential SkillsCooking knowledge and techniquesStamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAttention to safety and detail orientationTeamwork and communication skillsKeen sense of taste and smell to ensure high-quality dishesAbility to work under pressure and adapt to changing situationsRequirementsCurrently enrolled in a program at a culinary institute community college/trade school or four-year of study preferred to be focused on culinary food sciences or restaurant organizational leadership and communication skillsCapable of a minimum 12-week commitmentServSafe certification or willingness to obtainPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 810 hours per shift).Ability to bend stoop reach and lift frequently. Ability to lift and carry up to3050 lbs. regularly. Ability to push pull or move heavy equipment or carts. Manual dexterity to handle knives cooking utensils and kitchen equipment safely. Tolerance for working in hot humid and fast-paced environments. Ability to work with exposure to open flames hot surfaces and sharp objects.
