Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Real Estate and Construction(Ref.: 534586) (to commence as soon as possible for six months to one year with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelors degree and/or a Masters degree. The appointees will assist in the project titled Research on Artificial Intelligence for Integrity and Corruption Prevention in Construction. This project aims to develop AI algorithms to monitor and analyse construction process ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards; and support corruption prevention initiatives by minimising opportunities for malpractice or manipulation in construction.
The appointees will
(1) Participate in the frontend and backend development of the anti-fraud system;
(2) Participate in the development of the AI-based fraud detection algorithm; and
(3) Work closely with the research team to facilitate the platforms pilot implementation in real-life construction projects.
We are looking for candidates with:
1. Academic backgrounds in Computer Science Machine Learning Software Engineering or related fields;
2. Proficiency in at least one frontend or backend programming language (Java JavaScript Python Go etc.);
3. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to closely collaborate with developers and product managers; and
4. Good communication and writing skills in English.

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a temporary basis for six months to one year with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
