ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Global Data Strategy Lead you will play a pivotal role in driving transformative growth for WPP Medias largest global clients. You will be instrumental in leveraging the power of data technology and AI to unlock incremental value from media investments translating complex data capabilities into commercially viable and innovative solutions. This role demands a visionary leader who can spearhead the application of data-driven marketing define sophisticated data strategies and act as a trusted advisor to C-suite stakeholders in representing all that WPP can provide for them ensuring our clients maintain a competitive advantage in a dynamic platform-based world. Operating within a matrix organizational structure this role will have hard-line reporting into the Global Data & Tech lead while also being deeply embedded within dedicated LOB teams to drive direct impact and integration. You will be at the forefront of evolving the data and technology offering setting industry standards educating clients and team members on whats possible and championing a culture of data-led innovation across the WPP network.

This role is based in London or New York and plays a crucial part in supporting WPPs mission to deliver consistency delivery excellence and best in class service for Amazon in every country across its diverse businesses including XCM Prime Video and RMI.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Data Application:Drive the development and implementation of advanced data strategies for Amazon actively leveraging WPPs partners and clients full suite of data assets products technologies and expert services (including insights analytics measurement and data partnerships). This involves architecting innovative data-driven solutions translating complex capabilities into tangible business value and ensuring data strategies are meticulously crafted to unlock new growth opportunities and competitive advantage for our clients.
  • Global Data & Tech Strategy & Roadmap Development:This role involves leading the development and execution of global data and technology transformation roadmaps aligned with client business outcomes. It focuses on defining key data strategy elements championing audience-first thinking using 1PD 2PD and 3PD data evolving measurement KPIs to include leading indicators and addressing data gaps for enrichment.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement:The Global Data Strategy lead will cultivate trusted advisor relationships with senior client marketing and data leads as well as WPP Global Client Lead stakeholders. This includes translating business objectives into innovative data strategies providing expert consultation on the media ecosystem and educating on data strategy and platform utilization.
  • Platform & Technology Innovation & Calibration:Responsibilities include influencing the design and customization of WPPs proprietary data and technology solutions including WPP OPEN Open Intelligence Infosum and 3rd party applications. This involves pioneering new use cases calibrating existing tools with the relevant data customizing technology working with our consulting team in overseeing ad and mar-tech platform integration and new partnerships. You will also work with our product enablement and deployment functions to manage the deployment WPP Open on global clients.
  • Audience Strategy:Identify opportunities to enrich audience segments to improve targeting and addressability through 1/2/3PD partnerships and signal augmentation.
  • Team Leadership & Development:As a large Global client team OpenDoor is a matrix organisation. This position requires leading mentoring and developing a high-performing network of data strategy professionals fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence bringing a team from all over the world on the strategic journey you are steering. Ensuring that global best practices are communicated and translated into in market application and distributed across regional Data Strategy leads
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Orchestration:The Global Data Strategy Lead will foster strong collaboration with other technical and media teams acting as the central point responsible for bringing together WPPs comprehensive data and technology offerings to deliver intelligent growth for Amazon creating codified solutions that enhance learning and prepared for scaling.
  • Commercial & Growth Leadership:The Lead will drive revenue growth and client satisfaction by partnering with commercial teams on pricing and proposals for complex data solutions. This includes leading data & tech solutions for existing clients and new business pitches demonstrating value and ensuring solution adoption to identify additional functionalities.
  • Thought Leadership & Expertise:This role acts as an industry thought leader providing forward-thinking guidance and contributing to data-driven marketing advancements. It requires maintaining deep expertise in WPPs data products and platforms articulating complex capabilities and staying current with industry trends and technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Global Data Strategy: Experience designing and deploying data strategies for media and advertising with large multi-line or multinational brands and distilling clear briefs to regional and local markets.
  • Deep AdTech/MarTech Mastery:Sophisticated understanding of the full ecosystemData Clean Rooms DSPs CDPs analytics AI tools and advanced measurement (MMM MTA Sales Lift)with ability to consult on product customization to deliver incremental media value. Ability to gain deep understanding of WPPs proprietary capability to translate for client implementation
  • Strategic Vision & Executive Communication:Translates complex technical concepts into clear commercial solutions with exceptional executive presence across all stakeholder levels from C-suite to implementation teams
  • Change Management & Consensus Building:Drives organizational transformation and builds alignment across agencies markets and leadership levels in fast-paced environments
  • Accountable solutions-focused leadership:Experience in delivering within large multi-market and networked teams in a fast paced environment is essential - with a strong reputation as a responsible accountable leader. We need a leaders with a willingness to go deep with the teams and the ability to influence and build consensus across levels agencies and borders.
